I have kmscon 9.3.5-2 installed on Fedora 44, kmscon 10 has been out in Fedora 45 since about May 21 and with 10.0.0-5 being the latest. When can we expect to see kmscon 10 on Fedora 44? Is 10.0.0 simply too new to show on Fedora 44 so we won’t see it until 10.0.1?
tells you where to get the latest kmscon
Sorry for that, there was some bugs in kmscon 10.0.0, so I’m planning to release a 10.0.1 and will deploy that to Rawhide, F44 and F43.
I try to generally avoid copr packages in preference for official vetted fedora ones even if it means waiting a bit longer.
Okay, that makes sense. The only reason I wanted 10 was to see if it fixes a weird problem where my Ctrl+Alt+F# hotkeys are ignored. Only my oldest laptop does that (Dell inspiron 7559 with Skylake cpu). This hotkey problem might be due to KDE 6.7.1, 6.7.2 is due out tomorrow so Fedora might have that by the weekend.
We still have the issue with the display managers other than plasmalogin where the need
Conflicts=kmsconvt@tty1.service
After=kmsconvt@tty1.service
to be added to the unit files.
