Is anyone having an issue after updating to 6.18.3 and Automatic Screen Blank feature failing to turn the screen back on when you hit a key or click mouse button? I have to restart or turn the monitor off/on. Turning the monitor off/on doesn’t work very often, maybe one in 24 tries.
What GPU do you have?
I’m seeing visual glitches in KDE with AMD GPU on 6.18.3.
Built in GPU for AMD and Intel.
I’m not seeing any visual glitches using Gnome. Just that the monitor will not come back from being turned off automatically. I have to disable the feature and manually turn the monitor off/on.
Kernel 6.18.5 - Still broken.
Not much of a help, but I had this issues around April till ~July 2025 with Fedora 42, but it went away automagically.
I also think this happened only when having the laptop in Power Mode “Power Saver” instead of “Balanced”.

Yeah, this seems to be the most common issue (video output display). With an emphasis on HDMI output.
I don’t expect it to be fixed until 6.19.x is released. There’s usually one bad kernel release per year.
Since this is a desktop, turning the monitor off isn’t hard.
Here’s my dmidecode output.
