I am bit frustrated with the Firefox and KDE integration in F36.
I have installed the
xdg-desktop-portal-kde-5.25.5-1.fc36.x86_64, installed the relevant Firefox plugin and I have the GTK_USE_PORTAL=“1” exported in my .profile.
Still, I get the GTK file open/save dialogs!
What do I miss?
Same thing here with Fedora 36 Kinoite (KDE Silverblue) and default Firefox installation, currently at 106.0.1, using Wayland as DM.
I don’t care much about the integration since anyway I use KDE with Bismuth and my setup is pretty nimble as if I were running AwesomeWM or some other WM, but I’d like to know why for some of us the integration is broken right off the bat, while for others work as expected.
I haven’t try it yet, but looks like the reason is this bug.
There is a workaround in the comments too.
