July news and more for the Audinux COPR repository

Hello,

Some news related to the Audinux COPR repository.
A lot of updates since the last post of news.
Just check the news page: Audinux | A Fedora COPR repository for Audio creation

I posted a video last month, to test everything related to audio / music on Fedora.
This one was made using a 6.15 kernel in real time:

I posted on Jamendo a new set on music made using the last version of LMMS (still in development):

An article also, on how to connect things to TuxGuitar to try to have a better audio rendering of a GuitarPro score:

Have fun and make music !

Congratulations on releasing an album made with open source tools. It’s also available on the music streaming service I subscribe to, so I saved it and am listening to it. The guitar, bass, and drum tracks complement each other well.

Thanks a lot.
These compositions had 2 goals:

  • give pleasure during composition
  • test some new plugins

I am also very pleased to have access to resources likes Librivox: https://librivox.org/ and freesound https://freesound.org.

There are wonderful people with wonderful voices reading interesting things for free on librivox.

Many tickets opened … and closed to fix problems reported.
A big thanks to the fluidsynth developer too. He fixed a nasty problem. I asked him how I can send him some money and he refused to be paid for the work he had done on opensource tool. Thanks to him !

And very pleased to see the evolution of tools related to music on Linux.
I remember years ago, the ergonomy of tools was absolutely not the same

Thanks to the FOSS creator’s platform you told me about, I also found out about downloadable sites like https://fossandcrafts.org/. In addition to MP3, I can also download Ogg Vorbis audio compression format (FOSS), which is great for practising multitrack editing in DAW in Ardour.

I can’t recall my early days as a FOSS novice, but Carla’s patchbay and UI are appealing. It’s amazing to be able to record and edit using only FOSS tools, trying out JACK native apps one by one.
