Is there any way to lock function keys using OS?

Just got a gorgeous new keyboard (used), it’s a Lenovo super slim and I love it, wanted for ages. Trouble is, the function keys along the top require me to press Fn key to do all the wonderful functions! My old keyboard had a ‘function lock’ key which could force the F1-F12 list, or the secondary ‘functions’.
Is there any way to use OS settings to force that behaviour on this keyboard which lacks the lock button?
Thanks

It might depend on keyboard models. You could try Fn+Esc or Fn+LeftShift to toggle Fn Lock.

Thank you Mike, sadly neither of those work. If there’s no other way to do it, I wonder if I could maybe manually program the functions into the F1-12 keys in the OS, messy but maybe effective workaround, any thoughts?

On my laptop, Fn+Esc does work to switch between secondary functions and function keys, but the setting does not stick between reboots. I can change the default state of the function keys in the computer BIOS, however.

Thanks, for a minute I wondered if I could do the same in bios, but i using an external keyboard with my laptop, so not sure. Would you say it’s worth looking in BIOS or is that only for built in KB?
thanks
