My situation: We have some devices at customer location, in this Case Pi 4. Tese are using IoT images from ostree commits.
Is there a way to switch them to bootc without loosing configs or having to get the SD-Card in my hands?
Or is there even a way to convert generated Containers to ostree repositories so that I technically only have to deal with one image which can be used by already enrolled devices?
For all who are interested. I did not find an answer online so I tried by myself.
You simply need to update the ostree repository to the latest fedora release where bootc will be included automatically. After updating the device to the latest image on the ostree remote, then you can simply do a bootc switch to the new bootc container remote.
