Greetings, I have a question: I installed the ModelSim version 18.1 from the Quartus package from Intel (formerly Altera) on F38 (Fedora). The program is installed, the individual tools work, but the traditional problem with freetype appeared again. That is the graphics do not work, the simulator only runs textually in the console (which is almost useless). When trying to run in graphical mode, it displays the following message:
========================
Error in startup script:
Problem initializing, terminating.

during execution
"InitializeINIFile silently"
evoked from within
"ncFyP12 -+"
(file "/mtitcl/vsim/vsim" line 1)
** Fatal: Read error in process vlm (0,0)

What I need, please, to do for solve this problem ?
I edited your post since most of it showed as bold which in one interpretation represents yelling on the forum. I am sure that was not your intent.
I cannot comment on the problem, but please make sure future posts do not show as bold with almost everything in the text.
One thing that helps us tremendously is when one provides enough information about the system and the software in question. For example:
How was the software installed?
Where was it acquired?
What form was the package? – rpm? code to be compiled? or ?
What is your hardware?
What fedora version are you running and is it fully updated?
If this is the site where the software is acquired then it seems a very specialized package and likely would require someone experienced in using it to answer the question.
In fact this does not show fedora as a supported OS
