How to play a .wav file?

VLC. Videos do not play .wav files. The only one playing .wav files is Audacity. That is a bit too heavy for a small .wav file. How to play a .wav file?

Gnome Music should play it.

You can drag files from file manager to mpv window, or right click to open them with mpv.

I’m on Fedora 37 KDE and installed VLC via dnf and (see details below) and it plays back .wave files. (I’ve yet to come across a media player that won’t )
