How to install minitube on Fedora 30

Hi,

does anybody know how to install minitube (Minitube, YouTube app for Mac, Windows and Linux) on fedora?
I found some rpm packages (OpenSuSE, Mageia 7) but not for fedora.

Thanks!

Hello @timbolino, welcome to the community! When you have the time, please read the #start-here category.

If such application is not packaged as an RPM in the official Fedora repository nor in third party ones (like rpmfusion) you can find it as a Flatpak on Flathub: Flathub—An app store and build service for Linux

Hi @alciregi

Thanks. I installed it.

But the flatpak version is only V2.9 (latest version ist V3.2) and it does not work (just a black screen, seems to be an GOOGLE_API_KEY problem).

I`m going to contact the developer for a fix of this

Maybe you can build by yourself. Seem the instruction are quite clear and easy

Okay,

I got it running! :grinning:

Needed to install some packages (different from the packages in the instruction)

  1. INSTALL:

    mpv
    qt-creator
    make automake gcc gcc-c++ kernel-devel
    qt5*-devel

1.2 change qmake path How To Set Up Qt5 & Qt Creator on Fedora OR use /usr/bin/qmake-qt5 later

  1. GET API KEY

and enable for YT ( YouTube Data API v3 )

  1. BUILD MINITUBE

like it is described on the minitube github page
