What I have done so far
- Followed RPMFusion Guides and installed proprietary drivers.
- Installed Nvidia Drivers
- SecureBoot is signed, Nvidia drivers are signed. They all loaded fine.
- Envycontrol to switch GPU states ( integrated, hybrid, nvidia ) but switching seems to does nothing. integrated does disconnect the GPU from listing I guess since it breaks
nvidia-smi
as it should. - At battery 77%
- Hybrid mode - 3h 28min
- Integrated mode - 2h 58min
- Nvidia mode - Haven’t tried due to some Wayland+KDE issues
What I am comparing it to.
- Windows 11 with Nvidia & AMD drivers installed.
- At battery 75%
- In Hybrid mode 4h 30min
- Integrated mode 5h - 6hr
- Nvidia mode 1h - 2h
Linux, Laptop temperature is always warm to touch where in Windows it’s barely noticeable if I’m not doing anything.
Is this only me? Why can’t I get integrated only mode to last longer than hybrid mode? Is there any tools to actually monitor how much power is CPU actually pulling like hwinfo in Windows? powertop
says CPU is not idle but System monitor says 1-5% CPU utilization.
