Hello everyone,
I think this will be the first official written communication to the Fedora Project as a whole since taking office as the Fedora Project Leader at the start of the Flock 2025 event.
I apologize for this first communication being as tardy as it has been. Attending both Flock and then DevConf.cz on the same trip left me with very little time to write in a thoughtful and compelling manner. I spent most of this trip in face to face conversations, or in meetings, making the most of the opportunity to interact with people and be present.
I’m going to keep this post very brief, but I actually do have a lot I want to talk about. What I’m doing this week is figuring out how I want to organize my communications to make it as clear as possible to those reading, when I’m speaking about council business, when I’m speaking for the project a whole, when I’m sharing my thoughts more specific to how I will be approaching the role of FPL, and when I’m just speaking for myself.
I’m using the council tag on this initial topic, but I’ll probably be adding a new jefFPL tag or some such for much of what I want to write about. Much of what I want to share over the next few days, weeks, months, years, centuries and eons isn’t going to be entirely council business. Much of it will be me explaining how I will be conducting myself as jefFPL, my intentions and expectations so I want to build a space for that separate from the council stuff.
