Help with Browsers

Its now only a google chrome issue. since I have problem with FF aswell.

I figured I’d get around to installing Fedora 44. Moving from Windows 11.

Installation went fine, no problems.
Got into KDE, ran updates.
Rebooted.
Installed RPM Fusion and that stuff.

Started Firefox — and damn, it crashes immediately.
Reinstalled Firefox, then it worked.

Installed Google Chrome via RPM, not Flatpak.

Everything was running fine during the evening. I installed WoW through Lutris and so on.

Later, KDE Discover says there are updates, like 500 MB.
Installed them, rebooted the computer.

Chrome crashes. Takes KDE down with it, which restarts.
Then there’s a kernel panic. I reboot, and start using option 2 in GRUB — a Btrfs rollback.

There are no updates there. The rollback was basically just as updated as the other one. Chrome keeps crashing and acting up, but no kernel panic this time.

I give up and reinstall Fedora 44. So far it works.
But I’m constantly paranoid that it’s going to freeze, lock up, and die again.

What should I do? What could have happened?
They say AMD is supposed to be good with Linux.

It’s just frustrating because I really want to get on the Linux train.

I have an AMD R5 5700X3D and an AMD 9070XT.

Had some more crashes. FF isnt working. Chrome is working little bit now. I added the --ozone-platform=wayland to it.

Im clueless to whats happening.

That’s strange. RDNA 4 drivers were very lacking on Linux for months but they should be good now.

Step one is to look at the journalctl logs. Next time your browser crashes, you can try reviewing the logs for the last 5 minutes with an option like this: journalctl --since "5 minutes ago". Alternatively, if the whole system locks up, you’ll want to look at a previous boot’s logs with something like journalctl -b -1.

And you don’t need to set Chrome to use Wayland, it does this by default now.

p.s. Check if your BIOS is up to date, as sometimes that fixes weird hardware-related bugs.

Im a complete beginner on this journey. I had the journalctl open with -f when it crashed. I didnt understand anything.
Is there a way to pull crashlogs and post here?

This is not a crash but errors at least Does it say anything?.

Please always use the preformatted text option when pasting text from your screen. That is done by pasting the text then highlight it with the mouse and click the </> button on the text entry toolbar.
It also can be done by placing a triple backtick [```] on the line immediately preceding the text and on the line immediately following the text.

```
your text here
```

This will retain the formatting as seen on your screen and makes things much easier to read.

For convenience I edited your post above and added the indicated tags.
