Granting access to other drives to applications (or removing password for HDD access)

I (newbie) have local music library stored on an HDD separate from the main OS drive (FS=NTFS). When accessing using nautilus it’s asking the password every time. So the installed applications (Spotify or any other music app) could not access the local files. How do grant access to the apps? Or removing password for HDD access completely would work as well. I would prefer the solution for the later problem. Thank you.

NTFS filesystems are not encrypted so I would assume that passwords are requested only before mounting the drive. Afterwards, access to files on the HDD should be normal for the User that mounted the drive. If you use the drive regularly, then you should add an entry in /etc/fstab for it … that way, the drive gets mounted at boot-time and becomes readily available.
