I use Geary for email (SMTP&IMAP) and Gnome Calendar with Contacts app (via GOA CalDAV and CardDAV). Not as flexible and powerful as Thunderbird, but does the job.

Have a look at KDE’s KMail – maybe you can install it even in a non-KDE DE, but I must admit I’m not sure.

I’ve been using KMail for many years. It is not without flaws, e.g. handling of HTML mails, specifically responding to HTML mails is buggy IMO, but other than that it is my daily driver for e-mail communication. I especially love the many convenience features such as being able to use Vim-like shortcuts and, very important, pressing m to move an e-mail to folder with type-ahead search, this is so convenient!

Everything else that I tried was not at par. Mailspring has similar convenience functions to move mails (very important to me), but I find it very buggy and in fact on my current F40 KDE system I cannot even start it.

I am curious, what in specific do you relate to (…and thus are you worrying about) ?

I was using Geary, which is fine, but lately I’ve just been using the Tutanota web app. I never liked Thunderbird, it always felt old and clunky.

Worry not yet future yes as seeing how actually PPA is developed and how they own advert company and there future plans makes it more AI, PPA and thenbthere is the advertisment company and need of money to keep on going the products

I’d look into Claws Mail – it’s a traditional email client that has a lot of features.

Also, there’s always Evolution. I have it installed, and while I do prefer Thunderbird, Evolution can do the job very well.

I also think the suggestion to use Kmail is a good one.

I could test how good and does Kontact work as flatpak, but i think getting thunderbird from fedora repos is better than flathub since fedora checks and tweaks stuff when needs so more truat for me

One PIM client that I am keeping an eye on is the Merkuro application suite. It is using the same Akondai server as the Kontact Suite, but with a clean modern interface. Hopefully, they distribute it as a flatpak soon. According to the FAQ it is part of the Kontact suite flatpak, but I don’t see it when I install the Flathub flatpak.
