Gnome DE breaks usbguard

This question is for Fedora devs and community members in the know.

I recently came upon this article, put out in March of this year, 2024.

(Bypassing USBGuard on Linux)

I was wondering if this article is correct, has the Fedora team addressed this vulnerability in any way, (ie reached out/collaborated with Gnome devs, altered the Gnome environment yourselves in house, etc.) ? Should users using Gnome be putting on our tin foil hats? Switch to another DE ?

This is an upstream issue. You can see GNOME’s comments here.

I agree and have read that email. The author of the article actually Wrote/addressed that email.

It appears this issue is ongoing and not (yet) resolved. I get that this is difficult because it seems several devs from companies will have to collaborate on this one.
