Might just be one of those things, but in case its a bug with 41 - when I try to print from gedit by clicking the printer icon the menu disappears and nothing happens. Immediately beforehand I had printed a png file from Shotwell Viewer and immediately afterwards I printed an odt file from Libre Office Writer, so I assume that my printer and its connections are OK.
I would suggest reporting a bug/issue against gedit.
you will have to collect logs to report the bug. you can also start gedit from command line and see if you get any feedback from around the crash there.
Minor nitpick but you might want to make sure you’re using gedit
and not the new gnome-text-editor
. IIRC Fedora ships the latter by default
Good point, I checked Help > About and it is gedit.
It works fine from a terminal, no error messages.
I’ll wait a while and see what happens, I’m reluctant to report a bug until it’s unavoidable.
Same thing is happening to me. I don’t use Gedit that often (only for my Samba server, where a lot of editors don’t work with however Files exposes the SMB share), but I tried to print, and the window disappears in the same fashion.
I am using the Gedit Flatpak in Silverblue 41 beta.
