Since yesterday whenever I open YouTube video it is extremely laggy, about 3-2 FPS. And it affects not just the video, but the whole Firefox (even other windows). It also happens even without any YouTube page open when scrolling or loading, but not as much as with video playing.
The night before that I had system update (not Fedora 38) and Firefox update in GNOME Software and after installing them I turned the computer off. I am not sure which one specifically caused the issue. I also remember seeing a notification from GNOME Software about something failing when I turned it on yesterday, but I got distracted then and I don’t know where I can see it now or if it even relates to the problem. I ran dnf update
after that to check, but it said everything was up-to-date.
I searched online about that and found recommendations to install ffmpeg-libs
, but it was already installed. I also found suggestions to enable hardware acceleration in Firefox (not sure if it was turned on before), but it didn’t help (though it only shows integrated GPU in about:support
, but not NVIDIA) if didn’t make situation worse. Any suggestions?
