Hello!
I’ve been using Fedora Cinnamon for several months and I love it. Recently I bought a second monitor for my laptop. The OS recognized it without any issue, but whenever the second monitor is connected the system becomes SLOW. Takes very long to respond to the keyboard and mouse.
I read online that it might have to do with X11 and the monitors having different refresh rates. The builtin monitor is 240hz and the external is 120hz.
I tried switching to Cinnamon+Wayland, which from my 3-minute experiment seemed to have solved the problem, but then other desktop features don’t seem to work. Probably because Wayland is not yet fully supported on Cinnamon?
Any advice on what else I can do about that?
System:
- Fedora 40 Cinnamon, fully updated
- i7 13th gen CPU
- 32GB RAM
- RTX 4060 (plus integrated Iris Xe)
Thanks!
