Fedora 40. Long boot time after kernel 6.9.10 update

If an update (or installation) that includes the kernel or drivers is followed by an immediate reboot it can result in corrupted or incomplete building of driver files. The next quote is a clue that may have happened.

The fact that akmods.service required that much time shows the build of the driver was not previously completed and it was likely running the build during the boot. Note that akmods.service added 1 min 20s into a total of 1 min 25s boot time.

Whenever installing a new kernel or new drivers (akmod-nvidia) it is always a good practice to wait for some time after the install appears to complete before rebooting to avoid similar problems.
