F44 Change Proposal: Drop i686 support (system wide)

I agree with this sentiment. Fedora 44 is not that far away and as Kyle has said earlier in the thread, this has already created brand damage and loss of user confidence in Fedora (and by extension Bazzite) for gaming development and as a gaming platform. We definitely don’t want to see that. Fedora has been gaining a lot of momentum as a great place to play and develop games. If we are talking about momentum, this is taking away that momentum and creating uncertainty. The proposal at the very least needs to be tweaked if it is going to be left as the default proposal for solving the maintainer burnout problem with i686.

I think that this is the key insight to this problem. We need to have an actionable alternative to avoid maintainer burnout and to solve the problems folks have brought forth to this thread. But we also need time to establish a separate proposal that takes into account all the stakeholders that are affected.

If we are talking about something actionable, how much time do we feel is reasonable for stakeholders to create a counterproposal or allow this proposal to be tweaked to create an actionable solution before this proposal goes for a vote and ultimately implemented?
