His knowledge of mathematical identities seems equally confused unfortunately, at least he did not catch an obvious mistake in code submitted by a contributor (subsequently fixed by the same contributor), see:
That said, this kind of stupid bugs do seem to get caught and fixed, at least.
About the politics, Fedora already ships software from maintainers with problematic political views, e.g.:
- for around 8 years (1996-2004), fetchmail was maintained by a vocal NRAA lobbyist,
- Hyprland is also still in Fedora despite repeatedly being called out as a “toxic community”, with intolerant (anti-queer etc.) positions not all that far from what metux is spreading.
