I have an older laptop, a Lenovo 14w with an AMD processor and eMMC drive. Currently, I have F35 LXDE installed but need to upgrade as one of the programs I use, Firefox, will apparently not work after tomorrow without an upgrade.
Via Fedora Media Writer, I downloaded and burned the NetInstall F41 image; and yet it won’t recognise the eMMC – even though I have F35 successfully installed upon it.
Any tips on fixing my issue would be extremely helpful and appreciated!
Does running sudo modprobe mmc_block before starting the installation help? (With the netinstall image, you might try adding rd.driver.pre=mmc_block to the kernel command line to be sure the module gets loaded before Anaconda starts.)
Edit: Or otherwise, I’d suggest using lspci -k and/or lsmod on your working system to see what driver it is using and then trying to get that driver to load on your F41 installer. (The netinstaller has a virual terminal for running such commands, but I don’t remember which number it is.)
