F38 wifi extreme low reception in intel built in antenna

Hi guys i have this extreme low wifi sensitivity in fedora 38 using a dell inspiron 5548
Other devices i have run totally normally, and im using a usb-wifi card and it works fine,
its just the built in antenna that doesn’t find o very weakly finds any network.
Please help me to find a solution to improve the sensitivity or whatever causes the non detection of wifi networks

I will paste some info

- i was wrong, deleted -

The current commands to manage network from the command line is ip and nmcli. Ifconfig and iwconfig are deprecated or removed ever since systemd became the norm.

You seem to have an intel interface Intel Corporation Wireless 3160 (rev 83) and I have noted no complaints about that adapter.

Your stated problem seems to be very low signal strength using the internal adapter and its antenna. Has it been this way long term?, or has it gradually appeared and only recently become severe enough to present an issue?

It seems possible that a connection may have become slightly corroded that could interfere with the wifi signal. I would look at that first since on most laptops the network card is relatively easy to access and connections thus easy to clean.

Other than checking all the related connections, especially the antenna, you have stated no other issues so I have at present no futher suggestions.

I have a number of my own access points and also one from the internet provider for IOT devices. Depending on where I was when I started my laptop it sometimes associates with the IOT wifi and then I wonder why signal strength is low elsewhere in the house.

Unplug the USB wifi unit before trying the internal wifi.

If you have multiple access points, check that the two wifi units are both use the same one.

I always start it without the usb antenna, only when fail i conect it

Ok thank you very much and sorry about the outdated info, here
is what i get, and its no a conecction issue, ran ubuntu studio just before installing fedora, in deed it does finds my network with minimal signal just to lose it immediatly, i also habe other devices running on that same network

i ran nmcli :

If the wifi fails that same way in different OS’s you may have a hardware problem. There are a few things to check that further rule out a software issue:

Try booting linux from power off, and check that system BIOS and firmware fully updated.

ok, im on it,
when it was running on ubuntu studio it deed had full signal power, i even updated it,
i installed fedora 38 and it got a weak and short sight of a couple of networks and then
no signal. or justo one network found with minimal signal

Check for differences between Ubuntu versus Fedora 38. You can run modinfo iwlwifi (assuming Ubuntu is also using some version of iwlwifi. Here I see: firmware: iwlwifi-3160-17.ucode. Check in dmesg and journaltl for the sections where wifi is enabled. Here, with a different Intel wifi card, dmesg has:

[ 4.753696] Intel(R) Wireless WiFi driver for Linux
[    4.771096] iwlwifi 0000:00:14.3: enabling device (0100 -> 0102)

[ 4.825529] iwlwifi 0000:00:14.3: WRT: Overriding region id 0
[...]
[ 4.833453] iwlwifi 0000:00:14.3: loaded firmware version 46.ea3728ee.0 9000-pu-b0-jf-Db0-46.ucode op_mode iwlmvm

You didn’t mention if you have installed all the BIOS updates for your system. Many systems enable wifi at boot, so you could have some mismatch between the boot-time configuration and the Fedora drivers and firmware. There may be BIOS options to enable/disable wifi (for PXE booting).
