External keyboard does not load after boot sometimes

It looks like my fedora doesn’t load all necessary drivers on boot sometimes.

  • I have an external USB keyboard. sometimes after boot it doesn’t work unless I plug it out and back in
  • If I use wired network after boot, Wi-Fi doesn’t appear at all until I reboot the whole system

What is wrong?
LMK if these are not relatedp roblems.

I see this with one of my keyboards sometimes.
As far as I can tell its an issue with the keyboard, not software.

In my case I cannot type into grub and the keyboard led does not change when I toggle caps lock.

For a time I plugged in a 2nd keyboard and that one always worked.

for me its not only a grub issue. I talso happens after fedora startup in GDM.

If you can ssh into the system from another one then you can check up on stuff.
Do you see errors in sudo dmesg for USB?
What does lsusb report? Is the keyboard showing up?

Oh and it maybe worth chaging the USB port that the keyboard is plugged into to see if the problem is USB-port related.

ok, I’ll check.
I don’t need to ssh - its a laptop so I can just use built-in keyboard

I just managed to reproduce the other issue - this one with my WiFi Card (I mentoined it in description)

here is input from lshw:

out is before reboot and out2 is after reboot…
My laptop doesn’t detect my wifi card at all…

in case of keyboard issue: it happens randomly and I didn’t get it yet

Hey, did you try to change the usb power control? I think they did same bad updates for that. My wireless keyboard stopped working and hardly to wake it up. I change the power control from “auto” to “on” and it seems OK now.

Is it CORSAIR by some chance?
