Dnf upgrade failure

I’m currently trying to upgrade my system packages in order to upgrade to Fedora 44, but I keep getting this error:

Transaction failed: Rpm transaction failed.
  - file /usr/share/doc/fmt/ChangeLog.md from install of fmt-11.2.0-3.fc43.i686 conflicts with file from package fmt-11.1.4-1.fc42.x86_64
  - file /usr/share/doc/fmt/README.md from install of fmt-11.2.0-3.fc43.i686 conflicts with file from package fmt-11.1.4-1.fc42.x86_64

I’ve ran sudo dnf clean all
And I’ve also tried manually removing the conflicting files myself but that did nothing.

I’m running fedora 43 with kernel version 6.19.12-200.fc43.x86_64 (64-bit)

Discard the oldest package:

sudo rpm -e --justdb --nodeps fmt-11.1.4-1.fc42.x86_64

That wouldn’t help.

I wonder if you need the 32 bit version of fmt, so you could try

sudo dnf remove fmt.i686

and check if it tries to remove too many dependencies before accepting the removal.
