My fedora always says Disk is likely to fail soon…
It is not the first time I encountered this problem…
Can anyone help me with this problem and clarify how this problem occurs
Can you copy-paste the entire warning message, or check the details?
Also post the output:
smartctl --scan
@vgaetera
I did smartctl --scan
i got this ==>>> /dev/sda -d scsi # /dev/sda, SCSI device
Check this:
sudo smartctl -x /dev/sda
and the booting time of my laptop is seriously slow
While I was using windows it was fast… I mean not that much but comparatively it was fast
Does this has to do any thing with this?
if not how can I make the boot a bit faster
You can read here about SMART diagnostics:
See also:
GNOME Disks > Disk Options > SMART Data & Self-Tests
I read about it but not finished but what is the acutal solution ?
how does this problem occurs and what can I do ?
Analyze the SMART diagnostic results and confirm the state of your disk.
If your data is important, it’s best to replace the disk assuming it is actually failing.
