Older Dell inspiron I think this issue, no sleep on power button or closing lid, started with plasma 6.2 update.
Anyway, I don’t think it’s the kernel but I don’t know what else could be the problem.

Sleep works from the start menu power/session but the shut down restart and log out options do nothing, no confirmation window nothing. I can’t believe I’m the only one with this issue.
There are big difference s in how power management has been done by Windows and Linux, so for laptops you are depending on vendor firmware. For 5 years or so, Dell has been pretty good about updating firmware on newer systems, and participates in the fwupd project.
sudo fwupdtool get-updates
and Dell websites.acpi_osi=linux
(or other “secret incantations”) to enable linux ACPI module.
