Can't get used to the mouse after using Windows for decades

Hi!

I was using Windows for decades and moved to GNU/Linux Gnome a year ago. So far, I had no problems. But now I moved to Fedora KDE, since I like KDE much more, but I can’t get used to the mouse even after weeks.

Do you have some tips what settings someone who used Windows for such a long time can apply?

Thank you!

Can you describe what’s bothering you about the mouse?

Yes. It’s simply that I so often miss, when usually I never missed.

Of course I already played with the pointer acceleration (None and Standard), but I can’t get used to both of them. Does GNOME handle the mouse different than KDE?

I would try it today under Fedora 42 with GNOME 48 (I know it’s different F41/GNOME 47/all prior but don’t know how it compares to KDE).

I believe the mouse handling is done by libinput that is common to all desktops.

It maybe that you can configure the mouse using libinput to get tbe find control you are looking for.

Personally I had not noticed and difference between mouse handling on macos, windows or fedora.

Did you customise the mouse on windows?
