Camera not working on HP Elite x2 1012 G2

Help. My HP Elite x2 1012 G2 laptop camera isn’t working. I’ve tried my browser, Cheese and looking for drivers on the HP website (which are only there for Windows 10).

Here are my laptop specifications:
OS: Fedora Linux 40 (Workstation Edit4
Kernel: Linux 6.8.11-300.fc40.x86_64
Shell: bash 5.2.26
DE: Gnome 46.2
Terminal: GNOME Terminal 3.50.1
CPU: Intel(R) Core™ i5-7300U
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 620

Information about commands used when troubleshooting:

// None of this helps me because it says nothing about my camera

  • sudo dmesg | grep uvc
    // outputs nothing and puts me on a new line

  • /proc/bus/input$ ls devices
    // outputs nothing and puts me on a new line

Please help me with any information that can fix this issue because I have run out of options so far. My camera doesn’t seem to be listed in any directory.
Also, please understand that I’ve just been copying and pasting these commands from google gemini. I don’t have much knowledge about how to navigate the terminal.

If lsusb does not list integrated cameras, it is very likely that the camera is not supported on Linux. There are some probe results on Hardware for Linux, but none of them detect cameras.
