Broken grub after upgrade to F30

I updated my computer from F29 to F30 and now grub is broken (a bit)
I get the following message at bootup

Booting from Hard Disk…
.
error: …/…/grub-core/kern/misc.c:465:unrecognized number

after that it boots the default kernel. It never shows the grub menu.

Can it be fixed?

Hi,

Doesn’t look your the only one to have this issue:

Response suggests:

sudo grub2-set-default 0

Should fix the issue.

Thanks Tom.

Thanks.
That removed the error message.

But I noticed an other strange thing. Now I get a grub menu only if I do a cold boot. When I do a restart of the computer grub menu is never displayed.

Is it supposed to be like that? Can I get a grub menu in both cases?

I don’t know if this is your case, but starting from F29 it is supposed that the grub menu is hidden by default.
Have a look to this document: Changes/HiddenGrubMenu - Fedora Project Wiki maybe you can understand if this is what you are seeing.

Thanks

With sudo grub2-editenv - unset menu_auto_hide I now get the grub menu every time
