Well, .avif format’s are pretty good but currently do not have a way to show thumbnails in Nautilus on Gnome. Does anyone know what tools I can use to make them work 
I didn’t care much for thumbnails in the past, but now with this avif and the smaller file size it’s got me interested. I’m able to keep more files on disk now.
I did use magick mogrify -format avif to do the conversion.
