Audio Issues with wireless usb headset

Hello Everyone,
I am facing weird audio issues with an Sennheiser GSP 670 Wireless Headset.
When the USB-Dongle is plugged in during the boot sequence and kernel load, then it will be recognized by the kernel and audio works, when i replugging it, kernel is it also recognized but pipewire / wireplumber still say that there no audio device.
Only an re-login or reboot will fix it.

Here are some infos:

I hope that someone can help me or give me an hint for solving it.

Can you try to delete the Wireplumber config?

rm -rf ~/.local/state/wireplumber + reboot then attempt to recreate the issue.

I’m looking at the other logs right now. Will update in a few.

Hey,
I did.
Same behavior, now also gdm-x-session is complaining.

Did you reboot as well? You have to reboot after the command. I missed it and re-edited my post.

yeah i did, sadly just the same.
In general its working, but replugging it will completly vanish it from the audio service.

Can you make sure you have a good connection? I mean, inspect both male/female ends of the USB. Make sure there’s nothing β€œfuzzy” in between the connectors. (happens with Cell Phones a lot. . .) Also, try different Ports.

I already made it sure.
Even switched my drive to an different computer for testing, but always facing the same issue.
So i can say, its not hardware related via usb controller ports or so.

Try : journalctl --user -u wireplumber -e

Also the Wireplumber config :

wpctl status

You can also try to check if PipeWire recognizes the device after replugging:

pw-cli list-objects Node

there are other things like creating UDEV rules and such, but I think this can be solved otherwise. Also, What kernel are you running ?

journalctl --user -u wireplumber -e

No related udev rules are defined.

My kernel version is 6.8.10-300

No i meant, you could create UDEV rules and such, but I think we can fix without that.

Can you go to 6.8.9 ? or 6.8.8 ?To test?

Ah okay, i also tried this by an related post from the 5.x kernel and f35/36.
sadly without any good result.
After setting up the related udev conf, which was a valid and successfull fix, caused an complete loss of recognizing this headset.

Bonus info, before fedora switched to wayland and the wireplumper stuff, my headset works totally fine, even while replugging.

Already tried, since f37 i faced this weird behavior but always hoped that it will be somehow adopted and fixed.
Wasn’t bothering so much before, but since i use my device also for remote work from home and switching between devices its just a pain in the a…

I see the wireplumber[3539]: BlueZ system service is not available error very interesting. . .

Could you check for an update? dnf update maybe uninstall/reinstall bluez?

Completely purged this package now, sadly still complaining about it

I did not know you were running Fedora over USB, but since you are and you have the famous Intel-DMI I am sure you are running into some contention. My question is did you run Fedora before over USB on the same system with the same peripherals?

I own a 4690K so I know all too well about Intel’s DMI. . .

nah, its not usb.
Its an sata samsung ssd
