Had Fedora 41 working well and good until I did some fiddling with it yesterday that resulted in me needing to reinstall the OS. This for some reason caused the audio from my line out to become incredibly loud.
Previously, there was no issue running headphones from the line out of my x870E Taichi motherboard since there is a built in headphone amplifier in the ESS9219 DAC that outputs to line out. Now, Fedora 41 and 42 are registering the line out only as speakers (despite using headphones) and even 5% volume is far too loud.
If anyone has experience with this kind of issue, any help would be appreciated. I’ll give information as requested.
