Hi,
With the release of 41 I’ve made a fresh install with secure boot on my laptop. After first boot and updating the system I’ve installed through software center the Nvidia proprietary driver, enrolled the key and after reboot (which took a lot of time compared to the previous ones) I can open only Firefox. Terminal, files etc don’t open up. They make the mouse arrow spin and then nothing.
Any idea how to even start debugging/fixing not having the terminal usable?
For me it happened in the opposite way - when I disabled secure boot no terminal and when enabled, OS starts with the generic nouveau drivers and terminal works, but other programs that do require nvidia drivers like blender do not launch. : (
Yes, I’ve just read another thread and it’s a bug with Nvidia proprietary and gnome 47. It’s works to you on secure boot because it loads nouveau drivers. Your setup is wrong in some way if the system doesn’t boot Nvidia drivers. Have you enrolled mok key and installed the correct software? (Akmod etc?)
