Acpi error at startup

,

There’s something wrong while the system starting up, but I do not know how to solve it. I can’t enter the desketop or the emergency mode. Thanks for your help

Are you able to boot a Live USB Installer? That would help with diagnosis and repair.

Many ACPI “Errors” don’t affect booting and using Linux, but the amdgpu ERROR seems connected to the ACPI errors and at least one other linux user has very similar errors and provided more detail:

acpi bios error ae aml buffer limit on Lenovo Thinkpad e480

ACPI BIOS Error (bug): AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT, Field [TBF3] at bit offset/length 262144/32768 exceeds size of target Buffer (262144 bits) (20240827/dsopcode-198)
ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.PCI0.GFX0.GETB due to previous error (AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT) (20240827/psparse-529)
ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.PCI0.GFX0.ATRM due to previous error (AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT) (20240827/psparse-529)
[drm:amdgpu_get_bios [amdgpu]] *ERROR* failed to evaluate ATRM got AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT

but I didn’t see any followup. Maybe the user can still be reached. I suggest you generate additional details as shown in the above topic and compare them for common elements. This might narrow down the list of potential causes:

  • missing acpi options on kernel command-line
  • UEFI/BIOS version and settings
  • hardware failure
  • bugs in some other software component
