Hello guys, linux newbie here. I’ve been using fedora kde plasma 42 for a few weeks now and after updating the system a couple of times I stumbled across this update settings tab
in the discovery app. I’m guessing this is some kind of listing of all possible update sources for os and software I have installed. My main question is: should I enable all of these or leave only some important ones checked? Any shedding of light on my question is highly appreciated.
I think the general advice would be that if you don’t know what those repositories are, don’t enable them.
Looking at the screenshots, it seems that the repositories need for the system to work properly are already enabled. The rest are mainly testing repos, which, unless you would like to contribute in testing packages before they hit stable, should be left disabled. Also, the Debug and Source packages are not needed for regular usage either.
In that context, I noticed that you have Fedora Flatpaks (testing) enabled as well. If you’re willing to try packages that are not yet in the stable branch, then it’s fine, but otherwise I would disable that remote.
