Will fedora include ai in desktop

Will fedora 41 come with any ai feature.
As new copilot pc coming assuming there will be people who will install fedora on those systems.
Those systems actually have a good npu to use that we need os level ai.

I did not find anything ai can show me maybe i have missed that.

I think he was telling you how to find out what’s planned for Fedora 41.

To do what you are asking there are a number of things need to happen from what I understand.

There needs to be AI software that is open source - I think there are options for this.

There needs to be LLMs that are open source and meet Fedora rules for inclusion of software - I know that there is work on going in this area, but its early days from what I have read.

There are some software available gpt4all ollama llama.cpp and so on…

Idk if you seen but redhat had a bunch to say about AI and using granite. Podman desktop now has an AI extension I messed around with if for a second and it seems really cool.

From Project Discussion to Ask Fedora

Added silverblue, workstation and removed silverblue-team, workstation-wg

I’ll not consider any RHEL-related distro real quick if there’s a hint of that. I barely know what deepin was, and now I won’t know :stuck_out_tongue:

It is strange that RedHat didn’t pack it for Fedora - Podman Desktop | Podman Desktop - is Flatpak distribution,

Given that ‘AI’ is a nicer way of saying ‘spyware’ or ‘copyright theft’, I hope not.

AI run in the cloud has issues, which no different from using social media for example.

But if you run AI entirely on your own device that is not the case.

The copyright issues are being addressed so that in the open source
world we can have models that are ethically sources.

This is a fast moving area and keeping up is hard work!

I would wait and see how the AI boom goes at first i was using AI daily started on github copilot moved to google gemini used github copilot year and cancelled gemini i used 4 months and cancelled. Eventually removed everything related to AI onnphones and linux wontbuse even browser based only AI i still use is jetbrains AI on IDEs to help better coding and debug etc there i see the actual use fir AI at this momentbi can see AI really usefull on desktop for daily use more on bothering and this comes from testing microsoft copilot and it gitvso annoying that it was everywhere giving suggestions and correcting

Well quite, social media makes everything worse in general. I’m very concerned that a bunch of predatory companies are reselling their supposed customers work with absolutely no credit (see Reddit, Stack Overflow for examples).

You mean training locally? Otherwise, the whole dodgy source thing doesn’t go away.

Well, I suppose those stock prices won’t pump themselves.

Did I not cover this problem when I said

No there are many many models which are open-source. Using it with local power there no bad about it
