Wifi networks not showing up in setting panel

I have recently upgraded from Fedora 38 to 40. Back when I was using 38, my wifi worked just fine. Fedora 40 detects the network card but doesn’t display any visible networks. I’ve already tried reinstalling the drivers, but it didn’t work. I am dual booting with Zorin on an iMac 7,1. My network card is listed below.

Network controller: Broadcom Inc. and subsidiaries BCM4321 802.11a/b/g/n (rev 03)

Welcome @cosmic-comp,

There is currently an issue with wpa_supplicant on Macs that likely causes this, you can read more about what you can do to fix it in the thread linked below:

Thanks a lot, that fixed it.

Added imac

Hello everybody.

Just to say that I had the same problem with my Dell xps 13 and the last Fedora 40 upgrade (broadcom wifi card BCM4352 802.11ac) and that the wpa_supplicant downgrade worked here too.

Thanks

Also just wanted to add I’ve had success on a late 2013 MacBook Pro 15" running Broadcom Inc. BCM4360 802.11ac Dual Band Wireless Network Adapter.

Fresh Fedora 40 Install
Connected via ethernet
Ran dnf update
Install RPMFusion repo’s
Install broadcom-wl

Rebooted

Wireless was visible, however no networks available so tried to connect to an invisible network which failed.

Followed the advice here and downgraded the wpa_supplicant

Rebooted

Wifi now connected.

Thanks
