Updated to Plasma 6.4 - Chrome flickers while scrolling now

I searched but couldn’t find any other reports of this. I took the 6.4 update on my desktop last night, and ever since, Chrome will randomly flicker and stutter while scrolling. I tried switching between X11 and Wayland in the ozone settings multiple times, as well as disabled smooth scrolling, and any change seems to help it temporarily, and then it eventually comes back. It ranges from non-existent to unusable, seemingly at random.

Anyone else experiencing anything like this?

I do not use Chrome, but I tried scolling in Firefox and I’m not seeing flickering.

Does Firefox work for you or does it also flicker?

Hey Barry, thanks for your response. Firefox is good, so I’ve temporarily switched to it for now. The issue only seems present in Chrome.

I use Firefox on F42 KDE with Wayland and I’ve recently, since I performed a system-upgrade from F41, noticed a seemingly random short horizontal flicker. Like a lagging artefact of some previous image. If I’m not mistaken, it only shows up when I scroll through Facebook.

If it’s Plasma-related, that would be a relief because I thought something might be happening to my GPU or the screen itself.

Bumping this in case anyone has any ideas or has encountered this. I swapped to the Flatpak version of Chrome and it was perfect for a couple of weeks, and now this issue is back with a vengeance. It’s made Chrome completely unusable. Any scrolling makes it a complete flickering mess.

Any help would be appreciated!
