Tilix flatpak does not launch

Thrilled to finally be a part of this forum, and especially this section. I’ve been pleasingly using Fedora Workstation over the last 4 years, and decided to give a try to Silverblue. It’s a nice experience, and I might post about a couple of issues I encounter. Here is the first one.

I have installed Tilix flatpak. The installation sounds to be fine (see below). However, launching Tilix simply does nothing. I’m running Fedora Silverblue 30 on my Thinkpad X1 Yoga Gen 4

    $ flatpak install tilix

What do you get if you run
flatpak run com.gexperts.Tilix

I had a similar issue with it not launching if I told it to run a login shell, but that’s off by default I think.

I then got this error message:

$ flatpak run com.gexperts.Tilix

I’m seeing the same thing. Won’t launch from gnome shell but will when launched from a terminal (which is kind of ironic, to open a terminal to launch a terminal!). Also getting the same output @grimy55 posted.

This is still broken, and Tilix won’t even launch from terminal.

Edited to add: I’ve filed an issue upstream.

Remarkable. Tilix has been working for me for quite a while.

It crashes sometimes when I Alt+Tab switch windows very quickly a few times though. But it’s been good otherwise. I also have no indication that these Alt+Tab crashes are related to Flatpak. This could just be a GTK or GNOME Shell related segfault, but I have not investigated.

Anyway, it’s still not completely without error. When I start it from GNOME Terminal now I get:

$  flatpak run com.gexperts.Tilix
