System broke after kernel update to 6.11.4-301 (zram0 issue)

I am facing an issue zram0 can not created error
Switching back to kernel 300 is ok and find so i removed that 301 kernel.

Added beta, f41, upgrades, zram

It seems there were bug issues in 6.11.4-301. Does 6.11.5-300.fc41 solve your issue?

It was already pushed to stable a few hours ago, so just do sudo dnf update --refresh on your F41 and install the updates including 6.11.5-300.fc41. Then reboot, and boot 6.11.5-300.fc41. Does that make a difference?

If he has F41 beta, updates-testing should be enabled by default as of today. Several years ago that was different, but developers thought it makes no sense to test beta but not using testing repos, neither for them nor for the users (unless that was changed for F41 once again but I cannot imagine that). But @frankjunior can verify that I assume.

Updates testing gets disabled around the final freeze.

My information differs, but cannot verify at the moment. However, the kernel is in stable. So he should be able to install 6.11.5-300.fc41 with the command I provided in either situation.

@frankjunior , just out of curiousity (and likely without relation to your problem), could you provide the output of dnf repolist in your F41 installation? Just to see if my information is obsoleted :classic_smiley: At the best, do the repolist command after your daily update.

I just did an upgrade on my F41 (with a --refresh option) and found the 6.11.5-300 kernel was only in the updates-testing repo.

And, yes, updates-testing is disabled by default right now.

This morning Fedora 41 has released a bunch of updates in the updates repository. This includes kernel.x86_64 6.11.5-300.fc41.

Interesting. According to bodhi it is already in stable for over 2 days, when the freeze was removed β†’ FEDORA-2024-2b6e9097b7 β€” bugfix update for kernel β€” Fedora Updates System I might have a look next week when I have some time about the background of that. I’m curious now :classic_smiley:

Happy to hear that

Thanks, but I think that is already clarified

Yeah I just saw that commit e9eab25 has made it already to the bodhi packages β†’ FEDORA-2024-56ea3e1da7 β€” enhancement update for fedora-release and fedora-repos β€” Fedora Updates System . I wasn’t aware of that :open_mouth:
