Hi, why doesn’t Fedora have a swap partition? Is it not necessary?
For the majority of users, the current default configuration using zram is more effective than legacy strategies using dedicated swap partitions. There are, of course, use cases that require other configurations.
I increased the memory on my laptop. Do I need to configure anything? ZRAM, for example?
unless you begin to see situations where the OOM killer has halted apps or instances that you can definitively show are related to a lack of swap space then no changes from the default are required.
Nope - it’s just get used automatically - you should not have to alter and values or settings because you added more RAM.
Given current prices, I assume you did that for a reason. If your original issue has been solved, the default configuration should be fine.
Please start a separate thread as I think others have the same problem with OOM killer hitting something they want to keep.
