Starting systemd-vconsole-setup.service hangs with Fedora 41 netinst installer

With Fedora 41 installer image (Fedora-Everything-netinst-x86_64-41-1.4) written to a USB I have the boot process hang at this early stage. I have actually successfully carried out an installation using the very same pendrive onto another PC a month before. I will try to simplify the /mnt/iso1/etc/vconsole.conf file, removing the “FONT=eurlatgr” line, maybe that will help… Please let me know if you have a solution to this. Seems like a pretty old issue.

Tried different pendrives, same result. Am I unlucky here with my hardware maybe, some perfect storm? Doesn’t make sense…

I suppose but my other systems are 41 as well so it would not classify as a solution really. I shall do so though. This is worst side of Fedora I’ve seen so far.

So the results with 42 installer. What the… Proceeds to the next step and hangs there. Beautiful! Honestly, I am dumbstruct.

((There’s 0 issues with debian netinstaller using the same hardware.)) → nevermind
This is likely be nouveau driver issue. Booting live debian iso displayed a log entry during boot which indicated this and adding “nomodeset” to the linux boot options eliminated the hang. I suppose I must use a more whole Fedora installer, maybe the live one and that will have support for the driver. I updated my BIOS but that didn’t help. My VGA is RTX 4060ti 16G.

I wonder why I don’t get that line indicating nouveau issue using the Fedora installer but I do get with Debian.

No, live fedora, even 42 requires “nomodeset” kernel parameter set, same with debian 12.
