Sr0 IO errors on boot

Hello, I’ve recently noticed dmesg is spewing a bunch of errors on boot, such as

On kernel 6.9.7-200.fc40.x86_64

From what I found online it seems /dev/sr0 is a dvd drive. But my PC doesn’t have a dvd drive connected in any capacity. There’s no room for it in the case, nor is a usb device identifying as a dvd drive (as far as I’m aware) connected.

Is there anything I can do to fix these errors?

What is the output of lspci and lsusb?

Some usb modems report themselves as a cdrom and need to be commanded into being a modem. The cdrom typically contains windows drivers.

Weird thing, after updating some packages and restarting again just now the message seems to be gone from newest boot?

You installed a new kernel? If so I guess it’s kernel bug that was fixed.
