Resizing partition with Fedora

Hi.
I have 2 SSDs in my latop: one with Windows 11 and a second one with Fedora 40 KDE.

I want to try another Fedora-based Linux distro (Nobara specifically). I have a ton of free space on my Fedora SSD, and I’d like to shrink the Fedora (btrfs) partition, so I can install Nobara on the rest. However, I’d also like to be able to extend the partition back the way it’s now, if I end up staying with my current Fedora install. I mostly just want to test GPU passthrough and GNOME, so I can’t do this in a VM.

Is there any way to do this, without loosing my data?

Just to be safe, I’ll do a backup of my Fedora SSD with Clonezilla, but it would be nice if I didn’t have to use it.

There is, depending on your skill set. If I were you, I would get a new SSD, pull out the Fedora SSD and install the new SSD in its place.

Save a copy of output from efibootmgr, if possible on paper. You may need it to restore it later.

The issue probably would occur when both fedora and nobara try to use the same efi partition. The suggestion by @vekruse seems wise to me both to avoid data risk as well as to ensure no problems with booting later.
