Nice initiative, Quintiliano. I was about to start a repo myself, but I’m glad to see you already did. The compilation process was very straightforward inside a toolbox container running fedora-toolbox-41.

Hey there! It’s great hearing from you here Dias, I hope you’re doing great and that you’re enjoying the end of year holidays season
I had expending a whole lot more time than I’d like to, troubleshooting connectivity issues happening while the build process run the fech-zig-cache.sh script, errors like these:

+ ./nix/build-support/fetch-zig-cache.sh
/builddir/build/BUILD/ghostty-source/build.zig.zon:8:20: error: unable to connect to server: TemporaryNameServerFailure
/builddir/build/BUILD/ghostty-source/build.zig.zon:17:20: error: unable to connect to server: TemporaryNameServerFailure
/builddir/build/BUILD/ghostty-source/build.zig.zon:21:20: error: unable to connect to server: TemporaryNameServerFailure

Then, I came back to it today and I realized that there’s a COPR already listed at Binaries and Packages - Install so I think it doesn’t make sense to keep my own, hopefully Ghostty will be made available at the official Fedora repositories soon.

Cheers!

Good to hear back from you.

Indeed. They have another Copr and also Terra packages. So far, the terminal is good, but there are some features I’m used to with Kitty, so I probably will be back to it. Let’s see how the next releases go.

Enjoy the holidays season.
