I just installed Fedora 30 to a new hard drive, and when I turn the computer on, it is listed twice. I have a single hard drive on this computer.

Is this an error?
If not, what changes can I make to have the HDD appear only once?

This may well be a deficiency (or bug) of your BIOS firmware recognizing the EFI bootloader twice. Is your BIOS up to date?
Do you have any troubles with Grub not loading or Fedora not booting, or why do you care of these entries, if I may ask? (Remember, never touch a running system)
On another note, Fedora 30 has reached its End-of-Life about a month ago and is missing out critical security patches. It is recommended to upgrade to Fedora31 or Fedora32.
Thank you florian. My BIOS is not up to date. With this laptop, a couple of years ago, I jumped into Linux based-os, and I don’t know how to update it. I recently adopted Fedora b/c my Ubuntu 18 LTS was hacked, and no matter what I did, I was unable to keep it integrous. I don’t know where the vulnerability was, but I suspect it was the wifi vulnerability discovered by Nico Waisman https://twitter.com/nicowaisman/status/1184864519316758535 My wireless card is Realtek. So, I decided to educate myself regarding Linux and Fedora, and I am now experimenting with this laptop. I replaced the hard drive, the wireless card, but I did nothing about the BIOS. Could you point me to the documentation that guides me on how to update the BIOS?
I have no problems with Grub not loading or Fedora not booting. But I care about these entries b/c after what I experienced in the last year, I am weary of details that appear erroneous or that make no sense. Before I was not paying attention, and it took some time before I recognized there was a serious problem.
About Fedora 30, I did not know it is no longer supported. I associated the Ubuntu LTS philosophy (even vs. odd numbers) to this OS. I have installed Fedora 32, but I continue to see the two entries as illustrated in the image I included in my original message.

Agreed. You have to consult the manufacturer’s homepage and look up the download section, then find the latest firmware download with instructions. Hopefully they offer a .iso that you can write to a USB.
If your manufacturer is part of the program, and the laptop is sort of newer, you may be able to update your firmware through https://fwupd.org/ (there is a native Fedora client for this service). See if you can find your make and model there.
I had a similar problem and removed the duplicate using efibootmgr.
Make sure the entries are really the same:
sudo efibootmgr -v
vgaetera, I tried the efibootmgr but it had no effect.
When I first started this post, I had BIOS Insyde F.68
I went to HPs website and downloaded the appropriate BIOS update, and now I have Insyde F.newNumber
This removed the 2nd entry of the hard drive that is illustrated by the screenshot I posted before.
HOWEVER, all of this is to prevent the surveillance of my online activity, and I am afraid that even with a recently flashed BIOS, this has not stopped.
So I will mark this post as SOLVED, because I was able to have the second entry of the hard drive removed from my booting devices, and I will open a new post.
