I suspect it is the result of this on the left end of the text entry toolbar.
This one gives standard input as we are used to
and this one gives different results, especially for the preformatted text tags and some of the typing as well
Note that the first has the M highlighted and the second has the A highlighted. The M gives the entries the way we have been used to and the A changes it.
It appears the change was due to a recent update on discord which is the software hosting this forum.
