FYI for anyone who has this issue - for me it was caused by a hardware problem. The dock was not getting enough power to the laptop. This was due to a lousy USB-C cable. Once I replaced the cable with a better quality USB-C Thunderbolt 3 cable, the ACPI errors went away and data transferred just fine.
