is it okay to install norvpn 19 via snap on fedora
Not sure how well snap goes with selinux since snaps are apparmor
They provide a native RPM package:
Get the fastest VPN for Linux (set up in minutes) | NordVPN
Although their installation script does not yet support the latest Fedora release, you can add the repo manually:
sudo rpm --import https://repo.nordvpn.com/gpg/nordvpn_public.asc
sudo dnf install https://repo.nordvpn.com/yum/nordvpn/centos/\
noarch/Packages/n/nordvpn-release-1.0.0-1.noarch.rpm
sudo dnf install nordvpn
sudo gpasswd -a ${USER} nordvpn
No need to to add manually the rpm package contains only GPG signing keys and repository
Wait where you get this rpm? On Nord account page you have rpm package and it only contains gog and repo and still needs to use terminal to install
Or you mean the script
This is what can be inferred from their installation script that they provide in the public download section linked above.
Also, be careful, the NordVPN Linux client has a bug using NordLynx. It will interfere with YouTube ‘Live’ video streams. I use NordVPN with OpenVPN and systemd to start it automatically. It is rock solid. But, not easy to change servers. You will have to edit the /etc/openvpn/client/client.conf file to do that.
Snaps should work fine, they just won’t be sandboxed.
thanks everyone. i will try the soluions. meanwhile i got an email from nordvpn sharing it here. i dont know how it works with atomic desktops like budgie
Hello,
Thank you for your reply.
Please follow this article to connect to NordVPN using Linux Terminal on your Linux device:
Please note, this manual setup lacks the additional features of the native NordVPN app and is a bit more complicated to set up.
Additionally, could you tell us what is your current location?
Lastly, we would appreciate it if you could let us know what your Internet Service Provider is.
If you’re not sure what it is, please visit the following link while disconnected from VPN:
